This scan is performed to investigate symptoms such as abdominal or testicular pain, swelling, urinary problems, changes in bowel habits, or to screen for underlying conditions affecting the abdominal organs, urinary tract, or male reproductive system.
Preparation may vary; generally, you may be asked to fast for 4–6 hours before the scan for abdominal imaging, ensure a comfortably full bladder for urinary assessment, continue your regular medications unless advised otherwise, and wear loose, comfortable clothing for easy access to the abdomen and groin area.
