This scan is performed to assess the endometrial lining in women with postmenopausal bleeding, irregular or abnormal bleeding patterns, HRT monitoring, Tamoxifen use, fertility cycle monitoring, or to follow up a previously thickened endometrium. It is suitable for women in the pre‑, peri‑ and postmenopausal stages, providing a focused evaluation of the endometrial thickness and appearance in relation to symptoms or clinical indications.
No special preparation is required for this scan. A transvaginal ultrasound will be performed to obtain the most accurate measurement of the endometrial lining. You may eat and drink normally and continue your usual medications. Your scan will be carried out by a senior female sonographer in the comfort of your home.
