Private AAA Screening at Home – Milton Keynes & Surrounding Areas | Same‑Day Report | No GP Referral Needed
ComfortScan’s AAA Screening (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasound) is a focused, non‑invasive assessment of the abdominal aorta to check for aneurysm formation or enlargement. This scan is performed in the comfort of your home and provides fast reassurance for individuals who wish to assess their vascular health without waiting lists or referrals.
AAA can occur in both men and women, especially over the age of 65, smokers, and those with high blood pressure or a family history of aneurysms. Early detection is essential, as abdominal aortic aneurysms often develop silently.
A structured medical report is provided the same day.
Our mobile sonographers use advanced GE portable ultrasound technology to deliver hospital‑grade vascular imaging wherever you are.
Why Choose a Home‑Visit AAA Screening
Same‑day medical report (within 24 hours)
No waiting lists or GP referral
Ideal for individuals aged 55+ or with a history of High Blood Pressure
Suitable for both men and women
Detects aneurysms before symptoms develop
Assesses aortic diameter and morphology
Safe, painless and non‑invasive
Performed by experienced NHS‑trained sonographers
Discreet, comfortable and convenient home appointments
AAA screening is one of the most effective ways to prevent life‑threatening complications by identifying aneurysms early.
People commonly book this scan when they:
Are Aged 55 or Over
AAA risk increases significantly with age, especially in men, but women can also be affected.
Have a Family History of Aneurysms
A first‑degree relative with an aneurysm increases personal risk.
Are Smokers or Ex‑Smokers
Smoking is one of the strongest risk factors for AAA development.
Have High Blood Pressure or Vascular Disease
Hypertension and arterial disease increase the likelihood of aneurysm formation.
Experience Pulsation or Fullness in the Abdomen
A noticeable pulsating sensation in the abdomen can be associated with aortic enlargement.
Want Preventative Screening
Many individuals choose AAA screening for reassurance, even without symptoms.
What This Scan Includes
This focused vascular scan assesses:
Abdominal aorta diameter
Aortic wall appearance
Presence of aneurysm or dilation
Aortic morphology and flow pattern
Risk indicators for rupture or enlargement
A structured medical report is provided the same day.
Ideally, patients should fast for 8 hours before the scan to reduce bowel gas and improve visualisation of the abdominal aorta. If fasting is difficult, a light meal is acceptable, but image quality may be reduced.
No special preparation needed
Wear comfortable clothing
Continue regular medication as normal
The scan is gentle, safe and non‑invasive. You will lie comfortably while the abdominal aorta is assessed using warm ultrasound gel.
Limitation:
Ultrasound imaging can be technically limited in patients with a higher BMI because reduced acoustic penetration may affect how clearly the abdominal aorta is seen. When this occurs, the AAA screening ultrasound will be reported as technically limited due to body habitus.
